Santa Eulària des Riu provisionally approves 176 rental aids and opens a period to allege the rejections until November 18

The City Council of Santa Eulària des Riu has initially decided to approve 176 requests for rental aid for the year 2022. In total, the Consistory has processed 264 subsidy requests, so the 88 People who have had their procedure denied have a period of 10 working days to present allegations. This period will begin next Monday and end on November 18. Although initial limits had been set for aid of up to 1,200 euros (1,400 in the case of those under 35 or over 65), finally, as provided for in the rules, the 350,000 euros will be distributed among all the final beneficiaries, so that the final aid can be around 1,800 euros on average. The provisional list is published on the notice board on the website www.santaeulariadesriu.com. At the end of June the call for aid was opened and, as requirements, in addition to being of legal age, the applicants had to be registered in the municipality at least since July 2, 2020 and have a valid contract for the rental of the property, which must be located in the municipality. The maximum rental price to be paid will be 1,200 euros per month and rent caps are established for the family unit in the 2021 financial year, ranging from 23,725 euros in the case of single-member cohabitation units, up to 35,588, 70 in the case of units with 4 members. From here on, for each additional member, the limit of the whole cohabitation unit will increase by 3,954.30 euros.

Applicants had to be up to date with rent payments, although some exceptions are allowed. Likewise, you should not be the owner of a home in any other part of Spain, although there may also be cases in which this condition is accepted.

To avoid picaresque, the bases also established the prohibition that applicants for aid be relatives, first (children, spouse, parents, parents-in-law, sons-in-law and daughters-in-law) or second degree (grandparents, brothers, grandchildren and brothers-in-law) of the person who owns the house. Nor should they be partners of the company that owns it.
